I'm working on something VC:MP related and I'm trying to get an idea on what should my limits be. And for that I need to get an average computer specs. I couldn't care less about your OS as long as you have windows XP and above... What interests me are CPU, RAM and GPU (
video card).
I'd be grateful if you guys could help me on this small survey. Just post your specs in the following format:
- CPU: Intel Pentium/AMD Athlon - <Frequency> (I.e. 2.8 Ghz, 2.4 Ghz, 3.2 Ghz etc.)
- RAM: 1 GB - <Generation> (I.e DDR1, DDR2 etc.) <Frequency> (I.e 400 MHz, 800 MHz, 667 Mhz etc.)
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce 5500 FX - <Vendor> (I.e. Gigabyte, ASUS, NVIDIA, MSI, Sparkle, EVGA, XFX etc.)
(
those above are some sample specs)
NOTE: If you don't know those components then use something like CPU-Z (http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html).
Your computer, your friend's computer and anyone you know that plays VC:MP. And please also mention if it's a laptop or PC. Thank you and I'll be waiting for you answers :)
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.93Ghz
RAM: 2GB - idk
GPU: idk
Windows: 7
Type: Desktop PC
modded hp minitower dx2430
Hmm, I'm curious enough to give you my lappy's specs. :D
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 Q 720 @ 1.6GHz
RAM: 4 GB DDR3 Freq: around 1994MHz
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 6370M ( aka 5470M ) 512MB
Average is probably a dual core CPU, 2GB of ram, and either intel integrated GPU or some not-so-great GPU.
The people who post here aren't the majority of the VC:MP players.
My lappy specs (which I just use for testing stuff while not at home) has:
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2450M CPU @ 2.50GHz
RAM: 4GB DDR3
GPU: AMD 7400M series, 1GB
PC (Out of my head):
CPU: Intel i5 2.80Ghz
RAM: 8GB DDR3
GPU: AMD HD6850 1GB
Looking at the current specs so far (out of which 2 of them are valid) I seem to have a lot of room to expand. Thank you guys for the help. I'll be waiting for more and try to get an average inclined towards low specs. And here I thought some of you guys play VC:MP because you can't play anything else :D

That's because you are new here. :P
PS: Give us some hints about what you are going to do.

In time :P If I don't get bored with it I'll make a topic somewhere to keep me motivated and you updated :D Admins should really make a forum category for simple chats like this. It's not a great Idea to have these topics in the Squirrel section.
Also, I'm not completely new. I just didn't bothered with the game that much. And I assumed that since I've seen some people complaining that they don't play SA:MP because of it's requirements. And they prefer VC:MP because of it's low requirements.
Like I said, most of the players on VC:MP that aren't on this forum probably play VC because they can't play anything else on their wooden computers.
AMD A6 3420M 1.5GHz overclocked to 2.2Ghz
6GB RAM
Radeon 7670M 1GB
:P

Just to be clear, these specs aren't just for my curiosity. I have no interest in the components of someone else's computer. My intention was to get the average specs of a VC:MP player. Basically to know if it's working on my computer then it would work on other people's computer. I didn't needed the processing power of a super computer. All I needed was to know if the majority of us have a PC with components newer than 2004.
I have a bunch of them available and most of them are your typical daily computer.
- Motherboard: Abit AN-M2(MCP68S)
- CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ (BH-G2) @2.7 Ghz
- RAM: 4 GB DDR2 800 Mhz - 2 x 2 GB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT (also has an Nvidia incorporated GPU)
- HDD: 1x 1TB + 1x 500 GB
- Motherboard: Gigabyte M61PME-S2P
- CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4050e @2.1 Ghz
- RAM: 2 GB DDR2 800 Mhz - 1 x 2 GB
- GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4350 (also has an Nvidia incorporated GPU)
- HDD: 1x 120 GB
- Motherboard: Biostar G31D-M7
- CPU: Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2220 @2.4 Ghz
- RAM: 2 GB DDR2 800 Mhz - 2 x 1 GB
- GPU: Some Intel incorporated GPU
- HDD: 1x 320 GB
- Motherboard: ASUS P4P800 Deluxe
- CPU: Intel Pentium 4 @2.8 Ghz HT
- RAM: 1 GB DDR1 400 Mhz - 2 x 512 MB
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce 5500 FX
- HDD: 1x 160 GB
The first one is the one that I use. The second one I gave it to my brother make use of it. The third one it's not used much (
I'm thinking of making a media-center out of it or some server that actually does something). The last one is mostly for testing against older hardware. Also the last one was my limit before this topic. But I see that only few players actually replied so I'm not sure how accurate this is :)
Don't get me wrong.
I asked about your specs because maybe somebody else will need our specs too, once, in the future. :P

Indeed. Someone might actually find the topic useful as well. Though I just wanted to be clear that it wasn't just a personal curiosity ;)
