Attention Kaspersky usersYour antivirus software is deleting or blocking a critical file for VC:MP, libpng15.dll. Not having this file can result in missing textures, not being able to see the VC:MP splash screen, missing weapons, and other undesirable behavior. Make sure that the following file is whitelisted:
Windows Vista-10 UsersC:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Vice City Multiplayer\04rel003\libpng15.dll
Windows XP UsersC:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR USERNAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\Vice City Multiplayer\04rel003\libpng15.dll
A client update has been released for 04rel003.
- Players who are unable to load custom objects, vehicles or weapons are prevented from connecting to the server
- Players who are missing the libpng15 library mentioned above will be alerted when VC:MP loads
- Added the ability to play non-3D sounds that follow a player (requires a server update)
- Fixed players' aim direction not updating if they tapped the fire button without holding it down
- Fixed reconnect being triggered by /disconnect
- Fixed /showdebug crashing if used while disconnected from a server
This update will take effect upon reloading the browser.
Tested the firebutton from this end privately it's works. Still have to try it out on a public server once everyone gets the update.
Checked how the library error looks and it's great too.
Awesome work! ;D

Is it safe? Do you checked the code?
Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Agent.wtkun
Yes it's safe. We compiled the DLL ourselves, it hasn't even been modified since we introduced it in 2013, and Kaspersky is the only antivirus that picks up anything.

Wherever you installed the client then. That's the default folder though, and we always advise not changing it.
Just run %localappdata% and the system will open it.

Can I get a bit explanation on this?

You're probably running the browser as administrator. In which case it's located in
[OS-Drive]:\ProgramData\VCMP. It's a hidden folder so don't expect it to be there by default.

I'm not running it as administrator. And I manually tried to access that folder, but it was not there.

Actually I hope that doesn't even get fixed.. you can take quite some hilarious screenshots with that and it doesn't affect gameplay
That bug is related to VC itself, not VCMP - it's been happening since a long time ago
Hello, would someone help me as the dll up? Occurred the following one day after doing the latest update of the VC: MP my Antivirus (Kaspersky) detected the dll as a Trojan, as said by other users. But anyway I innocently ordered that the antivirus "disinfects is" therefore believe he deleted the libpng15.dll now I can not play anymore! Could you tell me how to restore the dll? Thanks :)

First you need to whitelist the file in Kaspersky:
http://support.kaspersky.com/10017
Then you need to go into this folder:
C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Local\Vice City Multiplayer
And delete the folder named "04rel003." Close and open the browser again. This will force VC:MP to redownload all the files it needs to run.
Thank you, Thank you very much Stormeus ;D ;D ;D

Thanks. I will try to look forward in this update and check this since I noticed, it happened with him even on holding fire button maybe due to ping difference.
My AVG antivirus is blocking squirrel04rel64 file!!!
@Dangerous turn off antivirus while running server

This is a terrible idea, the Squirrel plugin is clean:

Run an antivirus scan on your system and redownload the plugins.
Everytime, i open my server AVG detects as a virus but i ignore the warning coz i know that squirrel plugin is totally clean, its a false alarm!!!

If you have a virus on your computer, it can infect your copy of the Squirrel plugin regardless.
@Stormeus it again identifies it as a virus!!! maybe kusanagi is right!
Well i use Eset Smart Security 9 and it doesn't do stupid thing like that ;D
I use Avast. It never deemed any of vcmp files as malware. Though, there are some games which when I try to run Avast takes it. And says Malware Detected xD. Some of'em were my favourite games. Bad-Vast!

I don't know what games you play, but I've been using Avast for years and it never detected games as malware.
Perhaps you're running cracked ones only? I wouldn't be surprised if Avast wasn't wrong then

Games are not malicious. Cracks are. Every good antivirus will detect the game as a virus/malware if it has been cracked( most cases )
