Unfortunately that's not the standard way to create a race so I couldn't help you.
When I get the chance I will read over that snippet to get a general Idea of why he did create it the way he did and I will get back with you unless you're topic is solved. I hope you are capable of fixing.
MY SUGGESTION FOR NOW.. CREATE A COMMAND TO ENSURE THAT EVERY CLASS ISN'T NULL ETC.... AS IF IT IS I CAN GUARANTEE THAT IS WHY IT HASN'T FINISHED
The checkpoint system has changed with the new update.
I would suggest you to use @Rulk 's script.
