i didnt know if its a bug or crash, so i posted this thing in this general discussion
so my problem is, when im connecting to a server, game loads like to 50%, then comes back to 0% and loads again to 50%, and goes back to 0% again.
Singleplay works fine.
what could be that caused?
i have ddraw.dll in my game directory, because if i dont have this file, game crashes with the address of 6f6330 ( i already posted this crash tihngy in support section but i dont want reinstall windows again )
Without this file, i cant play gta vc normally
any help? :/
Reinstall vice city*, not VCMP. I had the same problem and fixed it by reinstalling
hm, kay ill try
nope, the same error occurs, now it happens when i just double click on gta vc...
Try moving the ddraw to system32
lol k
There is already a ddraw.dll file in the system32 and SysWOW64

That ddraw.dll in your Vice City directory is a MOD. Reinstall your Vice City.
Quote from: Kewun on Jul 30, 2016, 12:16 PMhm, kay ill try
i already
REINSTALLED vice city.
Also i reinstalled windows.

Which windows?
Try install Oracle VM and install Windows 10/7 in it. Get VC working in it and then VCMP.
windows 10 home
and i dont want to play vc mp on a virtual machine since it ruins my fellings of pc and laggy as shit
and i dont want to downgrade from windows 10 to windows 7 or 8
windows 7 is worst for me, 8 is like a copy clone of 8.1
thats why i love windows 10 and windows xp ( i dont awnt install windows xp, its dangerous )
I would love to fix this crash for once and all, that is my last request ;c
Try my VCMP installer [just an outdated official vcmp installer but it works better]
http://vc-mp.weebly.com/downloads.html
Windows client
Did you try running with different compatibility modes?
Did you try running as admin and/or without admin privileges?
Do you have the proper Visual C++ runtime libraries installed?
What have you tried, what do you have installed on your system that could possibly interfere with the game. Drivers and such.
The issue is ddraw.dll is blocked by vcmp in some type of fashion,.
Since you said ddraw.dll helps, I just happened to notice it really is blocked same reloading as you said. but you need to change either the directory or write a string in the ddraw.dll to make the .dll to anonymous.
So dont worry, it still works, you just need to modify a few things and you will be back to playing vcmp again :)
Or you could fix your game the correct way,. Which is removing that darn ddraw.dll :P
im not a c++ programmer
i know only like 50% c++
and not a hacker.
I dont know why this crap happens, game doesnt even launch.
Well I recommend you to uninstall VCMP and vcredist then install from my mirror
"Try my VCMP installer [just an outdated official vcmp installer but it works better]

Windows client" - Crystal, 2016
which vcredist? 2013? 2015? 2016? 2003 ?
Every single one of it
2016 I think.
No, he was asking which one to uninstall. I never told him to install any, because the outdated installer [and this is the difference from the new installer] automatically installs the correct version
ok, if this doesnt help, then i give up vcmp
well, fuck this shit
now: gta-vc.exe has stopped working
Try another copy of vice city to install.
Try re-install windows without any addotional software (like antivirus) and install vice city to clean windows.
If still fail - it may be hardware problem.
i tried already, the 6f6330 is back.
i dont know
is my pc over powered for vc or wut
strange is, gta 3 works perfectly no errors
if you want my windows 10 build, it is 10586.494
version 1511
Windows 10 home ediiton
Intel Core i3-3225 CPU @ 3.30 GHZ
Ram: 4gb, (av. 3,90gb)
64 bits
if someone finds the solution what works for me, im gonna kiss you
You get a crash at address 0x6F6330 in gta-vc.exe ? If that's the case then the crash is happening in a function named 'rwProcessorInitialize' which is only called by D3D8System so you might have some bad dlls or a really bad fuckup.
Uninstall your gtavc then delete your gtavc folder also the saved games in my documents. restart pc and then install a fresh gta again.

maybe some GTA VC mods which made VC to not work.
My suggestion is to try downloading GTA VC from a completely different source.
already downloaded 5 gta vcs from diffrent sites
+ i purchased even, didnt work too
If reinstalling the game five times and reinstalling Windows didn't solve the problem, reinstalling a sixth time likely won't.
@Kewun, let's get some concrete information here.
- Have you installed the Visual C++ 2013 redistributables (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784)?
- Have you tried installing DirectX from the runtime packages (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=8109)?
- Are your drivers up-to-date? Particularly graphics drivers.
- What operating system do you use? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit?
- When did this problem start occurring? Is there anything that you suspect may have broken the game in particular?
- What are your system specs?
3. yes
4. 64 bit
5. some weeks ago
6. i told already, look in 2nd page
edit
1. done, tried installing the vcredist and no effects
2. i will try this too, ill edit this post
edit 2
2. installed, no effects + restarted pc
Have you also upgraded to the anniversary update for Windows 10? That should be version 1607.
Quote from: Stormeus on Aug 04, 2016, 03:27 PMHave you also upgraded to the anniversary update for Windows 10? That should be version 1607.
nope
restarted pc, installed vcredist 2013, installed the directx sdk, still no effects...
god damnit :((((((
Does that mean you're still crashing at 6f6330?
yeah
i tried dep settings, didnt worked.
Interestingly, I tried Googling the crash address to see if people were experiencing it with single player, and found this thread you made previously about the exact same issue:
Quote from: Kewun on Jun 03, 2016, 06:19 AMfixed.
had to reinstall windows 10 and remove other crap updates..
Not sure why that isn't working now.
Anyway, have you tried deleting gta-vc.set from your Documents\GTA Vice City User Files (or similar) directory?
yes, i even tried deleting whole folder!
:/
Are you able to set your screen's resolution to 640x480? Try doing that, launching the game, and then setting it to a higher resolution if it starts. If that doesn't work, I don't really suspect much else considering this is an error that occurs before the game even has a chance to load up.
:edit: You could also try the compatibility option for this.
Do you have any foreign/altered files such as DLL or ASI to enhance or otherwise alter the game and that could possibly be conflicting with something else?
I'm not talking just about the game folder, but also the Win32 folder inside the Windows directory or in environment paths used to search for such dependencies.
Is there any software that monitors executable applications and could possibly attempt to inject into them for various reasons?
If singleplayer is working, try using Georges browser as its most likely during injection and the official browser might have some compatibility issues.
none of these, no asi files, no other dlls
only:
gta-vc.exe
mss32.dll
readme.txt
About setting res to 640x480, its impossible i cant even load the game up, but i tried with compatiblity modes, tested all windowses in it, nothing!
i guess i will have to give up vcmp
well, ill try georges browser now. edit: the link of it is dead.
Video:
https://youtu.be/AxQS-PvAH9M
So single player isn't working now as well?
yeah
Please check your entire root directory for any files ending with .flt or .asi extension as these are the ones to be loaded by the game and remove them (aside of the gta-vc files). Also try to close unnecessary processes from task manager (using CTRL + ALT + DEL, then select task manager) and see if it changes anything.
no bro, i dont have any .asi or .flt file
unecessary processes? my pc is freshly installed with google chrome and gta vc, and gta 3 + lu, nothing more
i dont see any suspicous file
Try messing up with the Windows Firewall. Try turning off Windows Defender too.

This isn't applicable advice.
:edit: In the compatibility options, make sure to set "Reduced color mode" to 16-bit as well as 640x480 resolution.

I'm not advising him. I'm telling him to try it. If it works after doing those things, then it must be the problem with his firewall or AV.

No, it's not, we've already established that this is an issue with DirectX initialization and occurs in both single and multiplayer.
now, after selecting the 16 bit cols and 640x480 vid mode, error: could not find 640x480 video mode
without ticking 640x480, same error
ddraw.dll lets me to play singleplayer only.. but in vcmp not ;(
FINALLY I FIXED THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if some one has this error, download this ddraw.dll and put it in your game dir
http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/download.php?f=38253
