Title: vcmp-steam.dll problem
Post by: Indep on Aug 24, 2017, 11:31 AM
Hey there! I remember playing VC:MP on Steam version of the game on my previous PC (WinXP) and it worked. However, when I tried to play it on my new PC (Win10) with compatibility mode for Windows 7 (compatibility with XP didn't work) then the game starts normally. After the screen with "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" appears, nothing happens and when I Alt+Tab I see an error message with "VC:MP invalid dll path" or something similar with path of the "vcmp-steam.dll" shown. Does it mean the *.dll is in the wrong folder or what? I know some users had it, but the thread was old and basically no proper answer was given. Thanks.

I've tried this along with installing it in other locations (as mentioned in other threads) and I still get this error.

Running VCMP as a administrator worked for me.
