Hi all here's a new guy.
I did manage to download and install VCMP but when trying to join a server I get this "Application load error 5"00000000 something
Sorry if it's dumb and it probatly just a very simple bug but I don't know how to fix it, can anyone tell me how I can actually play?

The error I got when trying to access a server was: Application load error 5:0000065434

Does this happen when trying to load Vice City in single player via Steam? Does validating the game files fix the issue? Do you see any crash logs in %APPDATA%\VCMP\04beta\crashlogs?

Hello sir,
No, I can perfectly play single player via Steam (I already completed the game 100% cheatless!!!)
I just did validate the game files, it said that it reacquired 7 files and when doing again it said all is good, but I still get the same error.
Running VCMP as administrator or in comp. mode didn't work either.
And I can't find any folder called "04beta" or any crashlogs!!!
EDIT: wait, I could only find this in crashdumbs folder with alot of GTA3 crashes and one VC crash, I added a screenshot of it - does it make any sense to you? XD
Also added a screenshot of my specs, is it because my specs? Is it because my operating system? Is it because where I live? Is it because I'm black?

You should play MTA:SA instead of GTA:VC while having such specs lol
Anyways, it's not because of your specs or country. OS might be at fault.

Oh I'll get to SAMP as well some time, but this is the only multiplayer mod for GTA VC, so if I can't get this working, there will be no VC multiplayer fun for me at all...

The browser may not be detecting your game as a Steam copy, and may be trying to do DLL injections specific to the retail copy of the game that break Steam loading. What happens if you try using the "Autolocate Steam version" button in the Tools > Settings panel of the browser?
Also, did you change your Steam library's path?
No I didn't change my Steam library path.
And I already tried autolocating steam version but get "Could not locate the path to Steam GTA Vice City"

I'm using the shortcut that VCMP placed on the desktop for me!!! Ain't there just one VCMP browser?
Can you show me the gtavc.exe path from your VCMP Browser ?
Do you mean the path of VCMP? That one is 0.4, I'm not sure what the path of the game itself is.

I've heard once something about loading testapp.exe instead of default game executive.
Not sure if it's related to this at all, but it's all you get for now, since there is nothing else to do.
So you can try that. All you need to do is replace gta-vc.exe with testapp.exe inside VCMP Browser.
If it won't run that way, rename testapp.exe to gta-vc.exe in your \steamapps\common\GTA VC, change back the path in vcmp browser and try once more to join a server.
Tried it:
VC:MP requires Vice City version 1.0.
You are using an unknown version.
So unless you got a proper 1.0 download link for the game, it stops here.

Daydream, Argonath and Brasil Real RPG mainly, other servers might also have some RPG features like minigames and stuff but I think in each of them DM is allowed.

Common VCMP discussion.
Goto VC:MP browser settings, rename the "gta-vc.exe" to "testapp.exe". Because the gta-vc.exe checks whether it's launched by Steam. If not it will show this error. I don't know why R* provides a testapp.exe, just use it!
PS: Make sure Steam is running when launch testapp.exe, or it will exit without any message.
