Hello,

Over the past few days I have been working on a youtube video tutorial series for VC-MP called Vice City Academy. The general idea of the series is to give knowledge to the community. I'm currently making some videos covering some basics which new players (and some old) may find useful. For now, I plan to continue to make the series and cover many different aspects such as concepts, game setup, game mechanics, and strategy. I am happy to take requests on any specific topics regarding vc-mp that I may have knowledge on for a future video.

This is my first time attempting anything like this and I'm finding it quite difficult thus far due to my Scottish accent (pronouncing certain words properly in English for me is a tongue twister) so it may seem quite awkward/cringey but overall as time progresses I will hopefully clean up and become more more fluent and comfy with making these. Please give the channel a look down below and if there is any grounds that you think I should cover feel free to post below.

Currently there are 2 episodes thus far. I'm still getting a grasp of the general layout of the videos but I have a somewhat direction of what videos will follow in terms of topics. However, there most likely won't be another episode until after 1st of January as I will most likely be busy during the christmas/new year period.

Hi players of Vice City, I found new cool trick. If are having problem ingame with lagers or slow game then I have the perfect solution ramification!

Alot of the lags happens because you have small RAM's in the systems. RAMs are the models of memorys  in PC that help u r computer to remember the datas and not forget it. When older PC forget where have the data in  the Vice City's it make get slow and hard to play. u shoot some1 but they not lose hp?? why?? because u have small RAMs and PC froget to send to other palyers game that u shooted them becus ram forget.

HERE SOLUTION:

1. Go this website http://downloadmoreram.com/index.php

2. click how much u wanted i hav 1 gigbyltes just now but i select 4 so i download 4 more to make = 8gibs.

3. Click DOWNLOAD button.

4. Wait 5 minute and check compter system!! Now have 8!!! Look!

Introduction

Hi everybody! Currently there is a new Littlewhitey's unturned server available for everyone online to play!

Unturned is a FREE multiplayer zombie survival game which can be downloaded through Steam for absolutely nothing. All you need is a Steam account which can also be registered for free if you don't already have one.

Despite it's childish lego/blockland look, do not let it deceive you, Unturned at first can be a very punishing game if you make a wrong move the game will find it's ways to make you pay.

The aim of the game is to survive. You'll need to scavenge the map for items and supplies ranging from food, drink, weapons and materials whilst killing or avoiding threats such as zombies and other players on the server if they're hostile. Players can team up together or go solo, creating bases is a part of the game. Creating bases allow players to store valuable loot/items that you have collected and in general a place for defense. Vehicles in the server ranging from boats, cars, bikes and helicopters can also be obtained and used to travel around the map but be wary fuel is a precious item!

By killing zombies and doing things you gain experience points, these points can be added to upgrade your characters skills but be careful each time you die you lose 50% of your gained skills!

If you're bored or getting frustrated with whatever your playing at the moment, then come try our Unturned server it might just be the break you need!

The server is currently temporary and experimental. If the server has a steady rate of players and becomes popularly used then it may become more permanent. Their are currently only 12 slots available on the server however this may also increase in future depending on the demand.

Joining!

You can join the Littlewhitey's unturned server by the following steps!

1. Create a free steam account here and download the steam client. https://store.steampowered.com/join/
2. Download Unturned from the store page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/304930/
3. Once it has downloaded, launch the game.
4. On the main menu click the "Survivors" button on the left then create a new character. (Be sure to give your character a proper name.)
5. From the main menu click "Play" then click "Connect" and type in the following server details as shown below:

IP: 46.105.184.134
Port: 27015
Password: smallwhitey

Hit connect! A loading screen should appear connecting you to the server. The server uses a custom map of size (30mb) which will be automatically downloaded on your first connect, please be patient and hopefully it shouldn't take too long in future when you connect again! The server is hosted by VRocker-Hosting.co.uk so we should get a very nice connection!

Unturned has a quite a bit of a learning curve to begin with so patience is key! Some of the more in depth mechanics require a bit of learning and understanding. If you're unsure about something throw it into google or youtube or ask someone else on the server that may have more experience with the game!

The map that is currently on the server is " Washington " a full map of the area can be seen below:

Each time a player spawns they will spawn with a few items to start you off on your survival. These items include:

Bandage - heals a small amount of health when you are hurt or can be used to stop bleeding.
Water - Keeps your thirst levels low when you get thirsty!
Tin of beans - Keeps your hunger levels low when you get hungry!
Clothes - because who wants to spawn butt naked every time?
GPS/Chart - A map which can be accessed by the inventory.
Flare - for when it gets dark

Tip: Find a backpack to be able to carry more stuff! Sleeping bags can also be found on the map which allow you to set your respawn point when you die but be careful other players can claim your sleeping bag if they find it so be sure to hide it away somewhere safe!



Some general controls to help you get rollin' (Can be changed by the options menu ingame):

WASD - Movement
Spacebar - Jump
Left shift - Sprint
Crouch - X
Prone - Z
Q/E - Lean Left/Lean Right
H - Change between first person view/third person view
C - Gestures such as Wave, Point, Surrender, Salute, Rest, Facepalm.
ENTER - Chatbox
F - Interact (Enter vehicles, pick up items, open doors etc)
G - Inventory
U - Skills
Y - Crafting
M - Map
P - Players
Left Alt - Voice Over IP (push to talk)

Last but not least...


The IRC channel #littlewhitey-unturned can be accessed at "irc.liberty-unleashed.co.uk:6667". You will need VOP access to speak to the server, you can ask myself and I will grant you permanent access. Please feel free to use this channel to arrange game sessions or ask for help if you are unsure about something ingame! You may also use the board to post topics regarding anything related to the server or the game itself. Soon we will have an echo channel up which will mirror the activity in the server to allow for communication via IRC to and from the server.

Bugs and Crashes / [BUG] The sliding issue

Description
Whenever a player is firing a weapon, holds the fire button and moves/switch's weapons they begin to slide causing no running animation but instead a weapon fire animation causing confusing desync.

Notes:

Hi, I am posting here on behalf of the Littlewhitey server community as management over their. According to the active admins of the server this bug has been getting out of hand causing a lot desync and confusion among players, especially for the newbie players joining the server seeing this sliding mess. The sliding issue seems to effect every player differently, some players slide more than others do, so I assume it's affected by latency.

To make matters worse, apparently, more and more players are becoming aware of this issue and their treating it like it's some sort of tactic, strategy, skill or whatever to use in combat to out contest other players.

I had a bit of an internal discussion about it over at Littlewhitey's with one of the admins. They proposed that a solution would be just to warn/kick the players if they start sliding and explain to them what their doing. Instead of holding the fire button they should let go of the fire button before doing a run/weapon switch. However I do not think it is a suitable replacement in the slightest for many reasons ie:

- Telling a player to click their mouse instead of hold the button in a game is just outright silly and it shouldn't ever have to be said.
- Weapons like the M4, spaz etc are weapons which require for the fire button to be held and in the heat of battle quick decisions have to be made meaning players will end up forgetting to let go of the fire button.
- Similar to above, many players are used to holding the fire button by muscle memory which can make having to suddenly change the way they use their mouse a problem now.
- New players - Introducing this rule to new players would be a hell of a disaster since they won't understand what this bug is since it's not even visible client side on the screen.
- Language barriers. Many players don't speak English, trying to explain this to them would be a nightmare.

Now I know that Stormeus has repeatedly tried to tackle this bug, which I and many others appreciate his efforts in doing so but this bug still remains and it's sticking out like a sore thumb (atleast on Littlewhiteys). So what I would like to ask is what stage are we at with it? Does any of the developers/members of the community have any suggested solutions or workarounds to deal with this problem whether it be permanently or even at least temporarily?

Happens at random

What you were doing at the time of the crash
Testing out custom objects on the server via XMLs. It usually happens at random after connecting to the server. The chat box will spam the same crash code over and over and it seems to only happen when I begin moving the player around. Eventually if enough crashes happen the whole game itself will crash.

What you think caused the crash
Custom objects or something I guess.

EDIT: I noticed that it was also happening when not using custom objects but only objects placed that are from vanilla VC. So perhaps its not specifically related to custom objects themselves but who knows.

Are you using the Steam version?
No. (Installed from steam however, gta-vc.exe is replaced with a 1.0 .exe and testapp.exe is deleted.

Map Showroom / [MAP FIX] Collision fixes

About:

This is a small list of objects placed in positions on the map to prevent players from gaining entry to glitched areas of the map.

Mostly "Electricgate" fences are used to prevent players from glitching through these areas of the map. If an alpha setting is available for map objects on vcmp then it is advised that you set all objects as fully transparent to the player.

Fixes so far:

- Downtown Rockstar building east of ammunation
- Downtown Hospital wall
- Downtown Firestation wall
- Downtown parking area firestation wall/fence
- Downtown office building lamp glitch
- Phils place fence glitch in south-west corner of compound.
- Little Haiti Printworks glitch
- Escobar Int terminal C wall glitch
- Malibu behind bar roof glitch
- Oceanview Hotel Tommy's room roof glitch
- Ken rosenburg office wall glitch
- Prawn island west bridge glitch
- Prawn island stone walls glitch

A piece of map I created long long ago:

About:

Palypalms Island is a private residence island located off the north-east shore of Vice City. It features:

- A decorated clubhouse
- Beach and rocks... lots and lots of rocks.
- A yacht
- Helipad
- Beachballs
- Lighthouse
- Vegetation - Palm trees and bushes
- Misc items such as rowing boats, sun umbrellas, deck chairs, shipwreck.

Screens were taken on a map editor which is why there is a lack of water/lighting surrounding the island. It looks nicer ingame but I currently can't get into singleplayer atm due to crashes. I haven't had a chance to test it on singleplayer/vcmp let me know how it is if you get it working.

General Discussion / VCMP 0.3z config for 0.4

Posted this seperately in another topic but thought it deserves its own post as i've had it for awhile now but theres some people out there I see saying they dont like the new design so maybe this is an alternative:

About:

This is a config for 0.4 which applies a design similar to that of 0.3z

It includes:

- No disappearing chatbox lines after a period of time.
- The text entry cursor placed below the chatbox rather than above the chatbox.
- Console key changed to F1 rather than TAB (as TAB is the key to pick up new types of weapons)
- Font changed from 'Verdana' to 'Arial'
- Slightly smaller chatbox text
- Simpler black background scoreboard with smaller scale.
- Player healthbars are rectangular instead of oval with no backdrop.
- Player nametag scale decreased slightly.
- Grey console background and changed ">" arrow in the console from green to pink.

Installation:

3.  Copy the contents from the "image" folder you downloaded into the "image" folder in the Vice City Multiplayer folder.

4. Next go to C:\Users\DDCC\AppData\Roaming\VCMP\04beta" and copy the file "vcmp_config.txt" from the .zip you downloaded and replace the file.

5. Done.

The optimal resolution for this config is 1920x1080. If you have a screen resolution you may want to increase the scale of the fonts, scoreboard and nametags. Though each time vcmp updates I think you will need to reinstall this:

I still see that the shotgun sync is really wonky in the latest version. Anyone else noticed it or had any theorys as to what's causing it? Since we're near release i'd be really concerned if this bug is still in the game at final release since its pretty much game breaking in my opinion. For anyone who doesn't know about it heres a video:

Notice the shots that are being fired by 2nd screen aren't 100% matching up with first screen: some are firing and some are not.

It means that if you fire the shotgun then transition into a fast glitch and try to fire again in a too short period of time the shot might not sync on the other players screen. It's quite frustrating if you knock someone over with shotgun then fast switch towards them and try to fire again  at them on the ground and the shotgun doesn't sync on their screen.

I'm not sure what causes it either but I think its still something to do with buttons being held down. Usually when i'm playing i'm holding the directional buttons for the next movement I want to make after a shotgun is fired off e.g holding W + D while firing so that I can fast switch and run diagonally north-east.
