Quote from: Adrienne on Nov 03, 2014, 04:07 AMActually, I too met a copycat of Stormeus. He was from Romania & using GUPS.

Rest assured that I would only use such high quality scripts as FBS for my servers.

Disabled RDNS checks for open proxies. Hopefully you haven't been flagged as a forum spammer either.

Unfortunately the spambots are still coming back. The wiki has been put behind CloudFlare and is now using Bad Behavior/Project Honeypot to catch suspicious traffic. If it continues, registrations will be disabled and we'll revert to the "editor requests only" model.

The best I can do, if VC:MP doesn't already behave like this, is make it so that pressing T sends the proper keybind event if necessary. Anything that disables chat entirely at the server owner's will, though, would be subject to wide abuse.

Quote from: Fjose on Oct 31, 2014, 02:32 AMI have a suggestion devs can mmake a function to disable or change the key to enable the chat.

This disables players' ability to even type in /q or /disconnect and will not be implemented. You can mute players but you can't disable access to core functionality like that.

As far as a suggestions board goes, not sure if it's necessary, as suggestions have generally been posted in general discussion in the first place.

Fun fact: about 5,000 spambots were registered, all from China.

Right, so the antispam extension that was used was cracked by spambots and that's probably on me for using stupid questions as well as not using REcaptcha. A REcaptcha has been put up on the registration page and a DNS blacklist has been set up to block known spammers from registering and editing.

To deal with the issue of collateral damage already caused, the wiki is being nuked.

If you registered on the wiki within the last 7 days, you were probably nuked and had your edits reverted and have been blocked. PM me your wiki username if you've been blocked to be unblocked.

Quote from: S.L.C on Oct 29, 2014, 12:49 PMSince this forum will host a lot of code/scripts I believe it's a good idea to have a script similar to PasteBin that guarantees a permanent lifetime and/or the possibility to maintain/update snippets and other code related to VC:MP scripting.

Doesn't Pastebin allow pastes that don't expire?

Will check out the code formatting issues.

Quote from: Fjose on Oct 22, 2014, 11:10 PMtesters and developers can't tell me about the multiple instances?

It's simply a matter of launching a VC:MP instance, changing your name in the browser, and then launching another VC:MP instance. That's it.

After many successful rounds of private and public beta testing, the VC:MP Development Team is proud to announce the release of the 0.4 Release Candidate.

This is more representative of a final product, and by releasing the server to the public we can collect a significant amount of information regarding bugs and issues that may exist in the server or client. Allowing the community to do whatever they please with the server would be much more productive than simply producing public beta scripts and testing them, as we cannot account for every possible scenario a scripter may want to attempt in 0.4.

Moreover, by releasing the server for scripters to test and develop on, the transition from R2 to 0.4 will be seamless and much smoother, as server owners will more likely be prepared to adopt a completely new version of VC:MP.

Notes on RC Release

Releasing the server as a near-final product for bughunting serves to help scripters become ready for the switch to a final 0.4 release and for bug finding purposes. While this does signal a closer approach to a final release, it is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a polished product we believe should be fully representative of our efforts. Once we feel 0.4 is ready for full release, we will make another announcement and spread the word.
