Chat not appearing at all and crashing upon connecting

Alright so most people that I've seen actually have a chat window or some form of text showing that they can see the chat.

But for me I have none of that, no words, chatbox, hell I can't even bring up the scoreboard. I don't know if its just littlewhitey's server, or if the feature was taken off to be worked on, but as stated before it isn't showing up.

I don't know if I screwed it somewhere or if I'm missing a file.

And I'm also having constant crashes when connecting to littlewhitey's server, sometimes I'll manage to get in (but then quit because I don't know why the chat isn't appearing) and other times it'll crash right when that little arcade jingle (the one that plays when you spawn) plays.

Do you have any other mods, including VC:MP 0.3, installed? Did you install VC:MP outside of the game directory?

I ended up installing VC:MP outside the game directory, more specifically the "AppData\Local" because for some reason it would only install the update there. So I might have to move the folder or reinstall it to the VC directory.
