Hello, previously in a post, i had a problem with Steam VC:MP 0.3, then they said that 0.3 isn't compatible with Steam VC but will be compatible with 0.4.

Now in 0.4, i try start game with Steam VC to a server in this case Littlewhitey's and... watch the video:

The chat isn't displayed and can't write.
If i run MP as administrator, happens the same. And sometimes just close and a sign appears: "Unable to start Steam VC."


Have a solutions for it without install pirate VC? Only with Steam VC? Plis anyone?

Could you tell the steps you did to install VC:MP ?
Such a ... bug ... didn't happen until now, and it's hard to understand where the problem is.

I download VC from Steam, then i download MP from this page http://www.moddb.com/mods/vice-city-multiplayer/downloads/vice-city-multiplayer-04-client
Later install MP on VC Folder, inside of Grand Theft Auto Vice City have other folder with MP called: "Vice City Multiplayer", MP installed there.

Just had the same on a fresh steam install. Using the same install of VC:MP worked for a pirated copy of VC.

@stormeus: Is the steam build broken? Perhaps the steam overlay screws things over?

I can't even reproduce this on my own Steam VC. Do you guys have any crashlogs or does the console just not show up?

I've got one which may or may not be relevant.
The problem is, it works. You can actually play, it's just the GUI stuff that seems to be broken.

EDIT: Did some more testing. Server logs aren't being created either using the steam version.

It appears it breaks only when using full screen mode. So for now, just go to your C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\VCMP\04beta\vcmp_config.txt file and change the value of game_windowed to 1. I'll be looking into what causes this.
