Tried everything

I have the game two ways, one non steam and other not steam. I can't get either of them to work on Windows 10. I've tried everything the DEP the cracked exe the missing dlls files both the Mss32.dll and the d3d8.dll tried with and without them. I've gotten 3 different errors the C0000005 error and an error related to steam. If I switch compatibility mode than the launcher gives me a 740 error. I feel I am pretty close, currently the game loads and I see the splash screen for VCMP then game closes without an error. Any insight would greatly be appreciated. I played Multi Theft Auto way back in the day and I even dabbled in this once that got shutdown/stopped. I'm running out of things to try........ Any help will be greatly appreciated. I just noticed the game makes a crash dump;

I had the exact same issue. Get the DDraw component from this page and put it in your game folder, works like a charm

This ended up working after removing then the d3d8.dll file. Thanks PunkNoodle so much man!! You're a god!
