yep, that's right, it's not just my opinion
unfortunately i don't have recorded material to reproduce visually what i'm about to describe in this topic
basically:
all shots sync now, due to that
1) whenever someone NEARLY gets knocked when landing from a jump, he sometimes will slide on the floor.. that wouldn't be a problem, but now, thanks to 100% bullet sync, everyone can see him sliding on the floor while shooting, it is a pain in the ass to deal with this
2) whenever some player jumps from a height that triggers the roll anim, if he presses SPACE (jump) to get up without holding SPRINT then shoots, he will be seen rolling and shooting at the same time
3) anims are a buggy mess
(this applies mostly for shotgun)
yep, just like in 06, nothing has changed, the only thing that is new is the fresh new bullet sync that makes you be able to spam shots, hoping you will hit something.. and no, the spam cannot be removed now, if in 06 you could have servers decide whether they want this or not, in 07 they force this upon you.. and as for bonus, whenever you spam, if the server has the default shotgun values, you will fire out of your head literally, because the anim doesnt show the player shooting the gun anymore, it just glitches tf out
the only way to solve this is to mess with shotgun's E value (reload), basically to make it less than 250 ms.. i guess
4) rifles are not excluded from all of the above, player does sometimes glitch the anim with m4 when he's being shot at, which looks terrible
5) if you like speed cheating, 07 is the best version for you
practically since this new bullet sync was added, you can decide how fast or slow you want to shoot
+ bonus 6) aurora still works, so this version was indeed pointless after all

and NO, shots don't sync better than in 06, it's just an illusion, laggers now have more upperhand than ever..
and to note, there's a lot more, I just am lazy to list everything wrong with 07 right now
the best hope is to revert back to normal that @!$!@$# bullet sync, it only does harm, there's nothing good about it sadly (apart from the laser sniper shots, which is useless, cuz sniping has to be done patiently and accurately, not meant to be spammed for lucky shots)

tbh right now we just gotta accept that 004 and 006 were the best VCMP versions, you simply cannot improve DM more than that..

well I'm here to discuss about how VCMP used to be and how it simply got degraded slowly whenever a new version was released starting from 004 (which was the best improvement VCMP ever faced starting from 0.3z r1 onwards)
I recently played vito's server which is a rel004 version and noticed how smooth the sync is compared to everything i've played so far (to note, i never used shotgun in 004 before, so i never knew how the weapon should really work)

the thing is, once with above 004 versions, shotgun especially has degraded a lot, stubby too but it still is a bit better than shotgun to use in 006
007, contrary to what i expected, it's absolutely difficult to play in, the sync is unbelievably cheap, there are exaggerated lead-aims whenever you play against 180 pinger and not just that but gameplay feels weird overall compared to what i seen in 006

and then again, 006 feels extremely exaggerated compared to 004 vcmp servers

so here's my question
how is it possible an older version is extremely more reliable compared to the versions we have today?
guys, once you did something right, hold onto the code pls

I respect AdTec and Stormeus and all the work they did for us players to enjoy, but I also am intrigued by how many oversights happened ever since the upgrade from 004

and about 007, the footsync is completely screwed, and before you all jump onto me to tell me how old-fashioned I am, just see what triggered me the most:

this is absolutely unacceptable from my side, I simply cannot bother to have such a big headache left when quitting the game because of the amount of effort I have to put alone into guessing where the player will be

it was relatively easy to hit him in VCDM, which is a rel006, in which our pings are absolutely the same as in XE
AND the funny thing is, it's the same difference when playing 004, simply shots sync way easier in 004 than they do in 006, which is WOW, as in WOW what the hell, where is the actual mistake?


so as for players, stick to 004 and 006 if you want your braincells to be able to help you keep sane in the head, I personally got desperate by the amount of effort I've to put in for shots to sync in 007 despite the 'awesome improved bullet sync' sadly

I'm not saying the idea is wrong, I'm just saying that somewhere along the way something was lost, and on the list of suspects it might be:
- different bullet sync in 004
- or maybe footsync is also different in 004 than 006 (only devs can confirm if these 2 are true)
- in 004 there was bumping/force break anim when 2 players make contact just like in 0.3 (funny, 0.3 is more reliable than 007), which could possibly have an effect on the sync as well since they were removed from 004 onward (I never found this animation annoying tbh, it would be cool if it stayed removed, but as long as the sync is not affected)

I won't make this any longer, I'm just sick of having to literally fuck the shit out of shotgun just to get opponents' health dropped, I refuse to play any more 007 servers just cause they simply cannot rise to even 10% of my conditions and terms of gameplay

ok after noticing KoTH's bizzare sync behaviour, i decided to investigate what is causing all of this

and so I asked personally some of the VU's high rank members to run a test version of KoTH, which doesn't contain ANY SINGLE GUI.

and, obviously, i wasn't shocked to see that my theory was true.

I could tell the differences pretty easy
I simply joined FunVice server and KoTH in parallel, and started spraying M4 horizontally and vertically

I used the same DPI and ingame sensitivity for both of the servers... and they corresponded

later, Luckshya (HI LUCKSHYA) disabled the zone border GUI, and I noticed that even though the sensitivites were the same in both of my game perspectives, KoTH had a LOT less accuracy of response to my mouse driver, much unlike FunVice (which is a clean of any GUI)

eventually, we tested and tested until something interesting came out.. when Luckshya removed "End round GUI", the controlls started responding normally like they should, and eventually corresponded (at least 90%) to FunVice which again, is a clean server


to note: we haven't done ANY other changes other than simply removing the GUI

if anybody has a server and wants to test out whether the GUI influences the gameplay or not, simply call me, i'm available almost always in VCMP


this topic is special for DOOM_KILLER and [MKt]Spiller, who previously blamed me for 'talking shit' and who STILL say that GUI has no impact in VCMP at all...


ask Gangstaras, he came with a benchmark tester, and we compared results from KoTH with GUI and KoTH without ANY GUI

PS: we didnt just use command /setgui off/on, the GUI code was COMPLETELY erased from the game codes, along with anything related

after that, Luckshya started removing gradually the GUI, until we came to the realization that "End Round GUI" caused most (if not all) the lag and desync


then axxo and others let me know that the GUI that was removed were actually 4K images, 1080p images, and there is still a lot more of them present in KoTH(meaning sync could get EVEN BETTER)


the best proof that the GUI influences the sync is concrete: compare servers that almost don't have any bit of GUI to those who do have, start 2 games simulatneously(with game_windowed 0) and keep switching windows, you will eventually notice the difference.


waiting for opinions on this matter... it's a serious one indeed, because thanks to this, servers become boring and annoying, and playercount drops signifficantly

is there any probability the developers would fix the cheating issue in servers, or at least do something about the servers who refuse to?

in the meantime, avoid playing on "GboyZ" unless you wanna cap some aimlockers

it's same aimbot as Kewun made public on his channel (you could check it out yourself), no matter whtat moves i make the guy will still manage to headshot me immediatly

this is the lamest version of the aimbot as it can be easily defeated with very little tactic, but that i'll show in next video when i catch this fool

meanwhile, I'm waiting for a sign that developers still care... if i didn't disturb them with this topic that is

the staff refuses under any conditions to ban this guy, so if you wanna deal with him, you need to pack some skills, as usual

in short, GUIs will damage hard your server's sync.. therefore make sure you LIMIT or REMOVE the GUIs from your scripts if you don't want to have an unstable server, and that is a MUST to spread everywhere, so that every server owner eventually learns about it

have you ever wondered why the fuck laggers and even NORMAL ping players can NOT be hit under fast c-bug storming with mostly shotguns?

in short, repeatedly spamming C ("storming" or "droching"), will eventually result in every single shot missing, which becomes annoying....

plz fix this soon, it becomes annoying even when playing against 80 ping players lol, laggers not even going to mention..

as a side note, 0.3z was perfectly giving out shots at the given moments, there were no shots missed back then like this...
